Corona Virus!

The irony of this photo is prior to reviewing it I had no idea I was posing in front of this tag. I Simply was admiring the graffiti on the wall.

Looking back on my life, I recall a conversation I had with my Dad. Mom was driving Dad to work, as she did every Saturday. I was in the back seat enjoying the views. As we drove onto the FDR Drive from the Willis Avenue Bridge I innocently blurted out “YOU KNOW! IF I DON’T SEE GRAFITI I DON’T FEEL SAFE!”. My mom, responded as she usually did whenever I said something off the wall, wide eyes and speechless. My Dad knew it was his cue to take control of the conversation 🤣 My Dad replied “Well, Momma (the nickname he calls me) why do you say you only feel safe when you see graffiti?”. I replied “Because it doesn’t feel like home. There’s graffiti everywhere we go”. Looking back at young C.Stone what she was trying to express was, yes, there is graffiti everywhere but she enjoyed the creative and artistic side of it. It was the fingerprint of NYC. So, how come there isn’t uniqueness & art everywhere? My Dad replied “Momma, graffiti isn’t a good thing. The reason you don’t see it everywhere is because those neighborhoods don’t allow for their walls and gates to be vandalized. Graffiti shouldn’t make you feel safe because graffiti is a crime and only happens in poverty stricken neighborhoods”. I stood silent and let his words digest.

Fast forward to today, the same young C.Stone is drawn to the art of graffiti. I am a creative and I love all forms of art.

Now, here’s the question I have for you. How has Corona Virus impacted you? The global pandemic, in my eyes was God answering my prayers. For months I have been wishing the world would slow down. I have juggled a life of bi-coastal living, care taking and entrepreneurialism since August 2018. I have to admit, it hasn’t been a piece of cake. It’s been down right exhausting! The world being on pause is the break I needed to hone myself in and work on other business ventures. For example this Personal Blog you are reading. Personally, Corona Virus has been the necessary evil I needed to reach this new level of evolution and elevation.
